Mangaluru, Sep 18: Lourdes Central School celebrated Hindi Diwas on September 14, 2021 as a mark of acknowledgement of Hindi as the National language.The celebrations began with a prayer lead by the Hindi teachers, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the principal Fr Robert D’souza, vice-principal Belita Mascarenhas and Hindi subject teachers Seema Madtha, Noeleen Pais, Diana D’Silva, Aruna Pereira and Mini Kumari.
The thought for the day was then presented by Seema Madtha. Noeleen gave the insight to the importance of the day, highlighting the fact that the day commemorates Hindi being adopted as one of the official languages of India. Therefore, Hindi Diwas is celebrated across the country on September 14 to spread awareness on the importance of the Hindi language. A poem related to Hindi Diwas was recited. Principal Fr Robert D’Souza speaking on the occasion gave an insight on the importance of Hindi Diwas in our daily lives and encouraged all present to feel proud of our national language Hindi.
Language and culture of any country plays an important role in making people connect with each other and helps in making the nation strong. Thus, the celebration concluded with a positive note on these lines.
This program was beautifully compered by Aruna Pereira. The highlight of the day was a beautiful video made by the Lourdites which showcased the various talents of students and their love for the Hindi language. Dance, music, singing with Kabir’s Doha were beautifully presented. Kiran Parmar an eminent Hindi teacher with vast and extensive knowledge of Hindi was the chief guest who spoke on the importance of Hindi in our day to day life.
Overall it was an enjoyable day for all our Lourdietes who gained knowledge about the subject and broadened their horizons in Hindi.
