Mysuru, Sep 18: Former chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa, clarified that his son and state BJP vice president, B Y Vijayendra, will not contest in any of the bypolls for now.
He was speaking to media persons after visiting Suttur Mutt here and invoking the blessings of Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji on Friday September 17.
He said that Vijayendra has undertaken tour of the entire state to bring the party back to power. "Along with state party president, Nalin Kumar Kateel, I will undertake state tour soon. Once the current assembly session ends, we will draw up a plan of the proposed programme," he stated.
On the issue of temple demolitions, he said that the people in general are emotionally attached to temples and demolition of temple without prior information and consultation was improper. He asked the chief minister to take proper steps to save the temples.
Yediyurappa had a word of praise for the administration of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He noted that the Prime Minister has been undertaking development works that have held the world in awe and made them feel proud. His farsightedness has supported the country's development, he added.
He also said that the current chief minister, Basavaraj Bommai, has been giving good administration and the people too have good opinions about him. He said that Bommai is capable of taking strong decisions in administration and standing by them.
