Kaup, Sep 16: Social worker Ravi Katapady, has been presenting himself in the form of unique fantasy roles seen in Hollywood films during Sri Krishna Janmastami every year and using the money collected from the public to help poor and sick children to get treated. This year, he has collected Rs 7,17,350. This amount will be handed over to eight sick and poor children by him on Thursday September 16.
In the last six years, Ravi who went before the people in strange forms, entertained them and collected over Rs 72 lac. He has given all the money collected to help 33 poor families to provide good treatment to their seriously sick children.
With the eight children he will be helping this year, the number of families he has helped has gone up to 41 and the amount given has gone up to Rs 79 lac. He plans to continue to come before the people in different complicated get ups and help the needy to the total extent of one crore rupees.
In a press conference, he said that he had thought that the collection this time may fall to three to four lac rupees because of the adverse impact of coronavirus infection.
