Udupi: State GP Employees’ Union Demands Job Benefits

Udupi, Oct 11: State Gram Panchayat (GP) Employees’ Union and Udupi district Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) held a protest in front of the office of the deputy commissioner (DC) here on Monday October 11, urging the state administration to fulfill their various demands.

The agitators demanded release of the promotion list and promotion of eligible GP employees to the post of village secretaries, to bring all GP employees under the purview of minimum salaries, and also payment of dearness allowance (DA) along with monthly salaries, to introduce provident fund (PF) for GP employees, job guarantee for all category of GP employees, and 50 percent concession to GP employees related to the appointment of the post of village accountants (VA). 

Kundapur taluk GP employees’ Union president K Narayan, vice-president Venkatesh Koni, Karnataka GP Employees Union president Maruti Manpade, Balakrishna Shetty, K Shanker, and Ramesh Mendon were present on the occasion.
