St Agnes College Organises Campaign on Solid Waste Management

Mangalore, Oct 11: The department of Commerce of St Agnes College, organised a Community Awareness Campaign on Solid Waste Management on Monday Oct 11.
Max Rasquinha, distinguished toastmaster and social entrepreneur, Houston, USA who was the chief guest of the programme said that conservation of nature should be a part of our life. He asked everyone to be aware of proper methods of waste management in the country.
India is blessed with plenty of natural wealth and the country is indeed marching ahead to become a superpower, he said, and added that he perceived that the future war could be regarding search for water within the planet unless the concept of waste management is practiced.
The programme was initiated with an exquisite Chinese dance by the students. Later, a skit was staged in which the process of waste management was splendidly elaborated. Forms of solid waste management were explained with a power point presentation.
Anita Gomes, an executive co-ordinator of the International Institute for Public Policy introduced the chief guest. Dr Devi Prabha Alva welcomed the gathering and Anjali Rao compered the programme. Rashmita proposed the vote of thanks.
