Bengaluru, Sep 14: The State Council for Vocational Training (SVCT) has accorded approval for commencing 6 new vocational training courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and admissions for the new courses can start from this year itself, Higher Education Minister
Dr C N Ashwath Narayan said on Tuesday.
Dr Narayan said the SVCT has given approval for the new courses under the programme for upgrading 150 ITIs in collaboration with Tata Company.
He said students can apply for admissions in all the 150 ITIs from the current academic year. The Minister said SVCT has given approval for starting 23 short term certified courses of three months duration.
Skills Development Department Secretary Dr S Selva Kumar, Industrial Training and Employment Department Commissioner Dr K Harish Kumar and other senior officers attended the meeting.
