Kundapur, Sep 10: Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated in a simple manner observing the government's Covid protocol here. Devotees have indulged in the pooja of Vinayaka deity since the morning.
Devotees in the famous Anegudde Vinayaka temple that arrived since the morning are being allowed only for the darshan of the deity. Special poojas are being performed by priests. Fruits and Theertha prasada were being distributed outside the temple. There were no prasada meals during last year’s Ganesh Chaturthi. But it was arranged in discipline this year. A Sankalpa pooja was offered with 1008 tender coconuts to drive away the Corona pandemic. Senior temple trustee Suryanarayana Upadhyaya, managing trustee Ramana Upadhyaya, temple manager Natesh Karanth, paryaya priests and staff were present.
Devotees were allowed to enter the temple after sanitization. Suitable arrangements were made in the temple yard for the devotees to proceed in lines. Devotees had arrived wearing masks.
Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, former Byndoor MLA K Gopala Poojary, former Shrangeri MLA Jeevaraj, Kundapur assistant commissioner K Raju and tahsildar Kiran Gorayya visited the temple.
Kundapur town police and traffic police provided security and regulated traffic in the guidance of Kundapur DySP Srikanth K.
