Udupi, Oct 6: Professor P Ramakrishna Chadaga of T A Pai Management Institute has been appointed as the director of Manipal Institute of Management, Manipal here.
On being appointed for the post, professor Chadaga said, “My objective is to develop a scientific vision for the institute that entails a pragmatic and motivated plan to inspire the institute for higher achievements. The focus will be on holistic and all-round development of students with a global perspective to face the competitive environment”.
About Professor Ramakrishna Chadaga
Professor Ramakrishna Chadaga holds a masters degree in Aero Space Engineering from IIT Madras, and a masters in management from Kerala University, specializing in HRM and operations management. His areas of interest are HRM, OB, leadership, teams, learning and development, operations management, entrepreneurship, emotional intelligence and TQM.
He has the credit of having worked with the former Indian President, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam for more than a decade at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.
During his tenure at ISRO, he was also selected as one of the payload specialist (Astronaut) to fly on Space Shuttle. He is also a member of the International society of SHRM.
Professor Chadaga has more than 125 technical papers to his credit and has presented papers in national and international conferences. He is a trained ISO-9000 lead assessor and corporate trainer and has worked in different capacities at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO, Trivandrum, such as head, aerodynamics test facilities, head, HRD and project director, test vehicle and sounding rocket programmes.
He has conducted several institute based/in-house training programmess for various companies throughout India. He has also worked and associated with prestigious institutes like SIT, MIT, NMAIT, IGNOU, and VTU and so on. He is a fellow of Institution of Engineers and Aeronautical Society of India and Life member of Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD), NIPM, Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). He is an examiner to VTU, Kerala, MU and BNG universities.
He is also associated with several cultural bodies like SPICMACAY, religious and linguistic bodies and Rotary for more than a decade. He has widely travelled through-out the world, a linguist and a yoga buff.
