Mangalore, Sep 30: In a case pertaining to the murder of notorious rowdy-sheeter, Pandu Pai, in the city last year, the district third sessions court has exonerated all the accused in the case, of the charges levelled against them by the prosecution.
Those who have been acquitted in the case are, Bejai Raja alias Shylesh, Rohi alias Rohidas, Rajesh, Jeevaraj, and Yashodhar. The policemen were alerted about the finding of the body of an unidentified man a little away from Kankanady railway station in the city on October 5, 2009. The policemen later identified the body to be belonging to Pandu Pai, who had been facing several cases.
In the charge sheet, the policemen had accused Bejai Raja, who had been earlier a follower of Pandu Pai, of taking Pai to Hassan in a car, tightening a rope around the neck of Pai, who was fully drunk, while coming back in a car, and abandoning his body near Kankanady railway station.
Judge of the court, Narasimhamurty, in his orders, said that the accused were released for want of conclusive evidence.
