Mumbai, Sep 27: The 67th annual day and Founder’s Day celebration of metro-based St Paul’s Catholic Association was held at their auditorium, Fort, on Sunday September 26.
A Thanksgiving Holy Mass was held at Holy Name Cathedral, Colaba, as part of the annual day.
Fr Avin S Beltangady celebrated the Holy Mass in Konkani on the occasion. Dulcine Cardoza inaugurated the stage programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Felix D’Souza said that positive inputs are essential for the office-bearers to work diligently. “The service-oriented hostel will become an abode of worship”, he said.
Valerian D’Sa said that selfless service is more important than money. “The youth from undivided Dakshina Kannada district who migrated to the metro in search of a better future are staying at the hostel of St Paul’s Catholic Association as one family”, he said.
Central Railways’ (CR) first Mangalorean station master Felix D’Costa, now retired, retired Income Tax commissioner Valerian D’Sa, Water Club retired officer Joseph Menezes, retired customs officer Joachim D’Souza, Abhyudaya Bank retired officer Richard Mathias, shipping entrepreneur Steven D’Mello, and veteran member Francis Aranha were present on the dais.
‘Asro’, a memorial bulletin, was released as part of Founder’s Day celebration during the programme.
Nelson Rebeiro, William Pereira, Wilfred Dias, Antony Nazareth, Arun Rodrigues, James Lobo, Joachim Lasrado, Maxim D’Souza, Rony R Byndoor, Flossy S Fernandes, Simon Ageira, and Alwyn Sequeira, were felicitated for their valuable services to the Association.
Association president Stanley Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Honorary secretary Richard D’Souza explained the services undertaken by the managing committee. Prasanna D’Souza Kumble compered the programme.
