Mangaluru: 75th Independence Day celebrated at SCS Preschool

Media Release

Mangaluru, Aug 16: ‘My Clean and Green India’ was the theme adopted by SCS Preschool this Independence Day as they pledge to instil in young minds, the importance of taking care of nature and their surroundings. This Independence Day was celebrated with a difference; while saplings were planted in the school campuses, children were encouraged to plant a medicinal plant in their homes and learn its medicinal value and use. A new aspect of environmental awareness has been introduced into the curriculum.

The management, staff, students and parents are all working hand in hand towards this goal. They believe that every small step taken will bear result. Through these initiatives they wish to encourage other institutions too to do the little they can, to teach little minds, who are the future of tomorrow, the importance of saving the environment. “We at SCS are leaving no stone unturned to inculcate sustainable values in to their minds so that they can grow to become responsible stewards of this country and the world at large” said principal Vinaya D’Souza.

In addition to this an online patriotic singing competition was conducted for the students of the school. Though unable to meet each other, the teachers and students put up a very impressive programme for Independence Day. Renuka led the prayer service. The significance of the day was outlined by Jayalakshmi. Principal Vinaya D’Souza delivered the Independence Day message. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ashnitha. The programme was compered by Krithika and Lavina.
