Konkani Group Malvani Celebrates Monti Fest

Mumbai, Sep 22: Konkani Group Malvani celebrated monti fest at St Anthony's Church, Marve Road, Malvani, Malad west on Sep 8. The programme started with the lightening of traditional "ponnti". Fr James DCosta, Fr Henry DSouza, Fr Philip along with the president Louisa Pereira, Secretary Charles Saldanha, Treasurer Gregory Veigas, Cultural Secretary Felix DSouza Malvani (Nakre) along with the committee members lightened the "ponnti". It followed by flower offering by about 50 children and novena to the Infant Mary. The parish priest blessed the New Crop. The "Novem" was served to all.

Cultural programme started with the welcome dance. It followed by the dance by tiny tots for the song "alli milli". Komblo, Vandemataram, ye ye katrina were the other dances. The dances were choreographed by Flynie, Dulice and Molly DSouza. The kids who took part in the various dances are Flynie, Floyd, Preeti, Denzil, Bernadin, Nicy, Maria, Shirly, Jane, Patricia and Angeline.


 

Felix DSouza Malvani (Nakre) and the troupe presented Hilarious skits namely "Telephone", "Amchi TV", "Padri Ani Pedru" and "Rastyacho Maal". Jilie and Anita also presented on comedy skit.

The programme started with the welcome from the president Louisa Pereira. At the end the secretary Charles Saldanha proposed vote of thanks. The "kobu" (suger cane) was distributed to all.
