Kasargod, Aug 10: The bike which was confiscated from the eighth accused Subeesh from Panayal, in the murder case of Kripesh and Sharatlal, youth Congress workers, has gone missing from Bekal police station. This bike was used by accused Subeesh on the day of crime. It is said that this is done deliberately to mislead the investigators.

CBI is investigating the case. As it is conducting forensic investigation of vehicles and weapons that were used in the act, the bike has gone missing.

Subeesh, who is a CITU worker, had gone to gulf after the murder. Police brought him back to Kerala with the help of Interpol. He was arrested by the crime branch police on May 16, 2019 from the international airport at Mangaluru. Later the bike which Subeesh used on the day of murder was produced before the court and kept in Bekal police station.

The investigating team is tracing the missing bike. The police arrested 12 accused including local CPM leader Pitambaran.

Kripesh and Sharat Lal who were going home on the night of February 17, 2019 on a bike were attacked by lethal weapons after their bike was made to fall because of impact with a jeep in which the gang of murderers had arrived. Both died on the spot. The case was handed over to CBI as per the instructions of the Supreme Court.
