Udupi, Aug 4: Deputy commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha has ordered for the strict implementation of night curfew in the district.

In a order issued on Wednesday August 4, he stated, "Night curfew will be imposed in the district from 10 pm to 5 am. Covid appropriate behavior should be followed by the public without fail.

"Social, political and cultural programmes will not permitted. Marriages will be allowed with just 100 guests. Covid appropriate behavior should be followed during family functions also. Religious places are allowed to open.

"Strict action will be taken against the restaurants, malls, and other places if violation of the Covid norms are reported. Institutions related to higher education are allowed to conduct classes following the covid appropriate behaviour. Students, teaching and non-teaching staffs should have taken atleast one dose of the vaccination. Attendance is not compulsory. Tutorials are not allowed to conduct classes. Medical, dental, nursing institutions and allied health care educational institutions are allowed to conduct classes where one dose of vaccination is compulsory for the students, teaching and non teaching staffs," stated the DC in his order.
