Beltangady: Nuthan Cloth Centre celebrates 75th anniversary with grand event, prize distribution

Beltangady, Feb 5: Nuthan Cloth Centre, a pioneer in the textile trade of the district, celebrated its 75th anniversary with a grand event on Tuesday, February 4. The celebration featured a prize distribution ceremony for 75 lucky coupon winners, a formal stage event, and a musical performance.

The event began with a prayer by Fr Stany Goveas, parish priest of Sacred Heart Church in Madanthyar. After the prayer, Fr Goveas congratulated the management of Nuthan Cloth Centre and its loyal customers for reaching this significant milestone.

 

 

Distinguished guests at the event included Harish Poonja, MLA for Belthangady constituency; Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd; Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, renowned Tulu actor; Jayanth Shetty, president of the Merchant Association; and Rakshith Suvarna, secretary of KPCC, who all graced the occasion as chief guests.

In his address, Harish Poonja praised Nuthan Cloth Centre for being a household name in Belthangady and surrounding taluks. "We can’t find a single family who hasn’t visited Nuthan at least once in their life," he remarked. "The firm is known for its customer-friendly approach and business ethics. I hope we see more branches of Nuthan Cloth Centre opening across the district," he added.

Walter Nandalike also congratulated the management and staff of Nuthan, highlighting the generosity of the Rodrigues family towards the community. He emphasised, "The Rodrigues family is not just known for their business but also for their philanthropic efforts. After overcoming numerous challenges, they have successfully reached this 75-year milestone. The staff’s dedication and commitment play a major role in attracting customers with their friendly attitude. They deserve recognition for their hard work."

Bhojaraj Vamanjoor shared his admiration for Nuthan Cloth Centre’s success. "The 75 years of success are a result of the hard work and dedication of the Rodrigues family. It’s not easy to sustain a business over the years with sincerity and minimal profit, but they have proven it with their 'low margin, more business' policy. I congratulate the entire Nuthan team on this wonderful occasion."

Jayanth Shetty, in his speech, praised the foresight of the late J M Rodrigues, who envisioned a thriving business in Madanthyar. His son, V M Rodrigues, worked tirelessly to turn that vision into reality. "What was once a small village with only two shops has now become a bustling business hub, thanks to the Rodrigues family's leadership. We, the merchants of Madanthyar and surrounding areas, are grateful for their contributions."

The prize distribution ceremony saw several lucky winners being felicitated. Prijith Kadaba won a 10-gram gold coin, Harish Venur took home a TVS Jupiter scooter, and Sunitha Bantwal won a 5-gram gold coin. Additionally, 75 other winners received gifts.

The gathering was entertained by renowned singers Joshal D’Souza and Jason Lobo, who captivated the audience with their melodious performances.

Prakash Rodrigues extended a warm welcome to the guests and attendees, while Rajesh Rodrigues delivered the vote of thanks. The event was compered by Nelson Monis.

This momentous celebration marked a key milestone in Nuthan Cloth Center’s 75 years of success and service to the community.
