Bantwal: St Lawrence Ward (Malebav) Farla Church celebrates Annual Feast

Bantwal, Feb 2: The members of St Lawrence Ward of Farla Church joyfully celebrated their annual feast on Sunday evening. The gathering took place at the residence of Louis Pinto, where ward leader Loy Roshan Vas, secretary Laveena Sequeira, and ward representatives Alwin Vas and Evelyn Vas honored the Bible with flowers. Everyone present also offered flowers, paying their respects with devotion.

Around 80 members participated in the event, which began with prayers followed by engaging games for all. The stage program commenced at 6:30 pm, graced by the presence of Fr Mark Arun D'Souza (parish priest), Naveen Menezes (vice president of the Church), Hilda Pereira (church secretary), Sunitha Rodrigues (All Commission in-charge), and Juliana Veigas (SCC coordinator).

Fr Mark addressed the gathering, extending his wishes for the feast and appreciating the well-organized program. Naveen Menezes and Juliana Veigas shared their experiences and spoke about the miracles of St Lawrence in their lives. As part of the celebration, senior citizens of the ward were honored for their contributions. Ward leader Roshan Vas delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging everyone’s efforts in making the event a success.

The highlight of the evening was the cultural program, featuring captivating dance performances, soulful singing, and a lively drama by ward members, making the celebration truly memorable. The event concluded with the thanksgiving hymn in honor of St Lawrence, filling the atmosphere with faith and gratitude.

The celebration ended on a joyful and spiritually uplifting note. The hymn "Namaan Namaan Santh Lorensa Mogal Pathron Santa" (Hail Hail St Lawrence, Our Beloved Patron Saint) echoed through the gathering, marking the grand success of the feast.
