Aug 2: Dakshina Kannada records 219 new Covid cases, 4 deaths; Udupi reports 135 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 2: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, August 2 reported 219 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of positive cases to 10,09,999.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 12,76,992 samples have been tested, of which 11,75,993 are negative.

There are currently 2,948 active cases in the district.

As many as 210 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday and raising the number of recoveries to 96,617.

The district recorded four deaths due to coronavirus on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,434.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,00,48,517 in fines for 82,695 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 7,87,029 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 135 new cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 70, 073 out of which 1238 are currently active.

A total of 97 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday, taking the total recoveries to 68,418.

Coronavirus has claimed 417 lives in the district so far.

5,31,296 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 1,85,378 have received the second dose.
