Alleged killer Anoop used the new car, without the registration number, of victim Ajendra and escaped to Goa via Uttara Kannada district. He planned to go underground in Goa. Byndoor circle inspector brought the accused to Kundapur and produced him in front of the investigating officer on August 1.
It is said that the new luxury car bought by victim Ajendra was the reason for murder. It is said that there were differences between victim and murderer in business. Victim Ajendra had not given the share of killer Anoop. This had irked Anoop. Partnership deal between the two was cancelled three months ago. Though victim Ajendra was suffering losses in business, he had bought two luxury cars within three months. Murderer Anoop was feeling jealous of Ajendra. On the day of murder, Anoop had asked Rs 20,000 with Ajendra. He had made all plans to eliminate the victim, if he did not pay the amount. As victim Ajendra refused to give Rs 20,000, Anoop slit his throat and escaped in the luxury car of the victim.
It is suspected that Anoop would have killed Ajendra under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Police are also investigating the involvement of any other person in the crime.
The police team was led by Kundapur circle inspector Gopikrishna and Byndoor circle inspector Santhosh Kaykini, informed superintendent of police Vishnuvardhan.
