Mangaluru, Jul 17: The career counselling and placement cell of St Mary’s College, Shirva organised a virtual educative session on training and placement in collaboration with ‘I Grow’, an initiative of Dr Reddy’s Foundation, Bengaluru.
The programme was presided over by Dr Herald Ivan Monis, the principal of the college. In his presidential remarks, he said, "The current situation demands students to be well trained with employability skills which is the need of the hour at the workplace."
He emphasised that the significance of employability skills be developed and equipped by the students.
Vinod, the resource person of the programme introduced and detailed the usage of the Google workspace for various purposes. Besides, Guruprasad Gowda, the area head explained the modules of training conducted by the foundation, which focuses on training the youth who are really in need of the job. He highlighted the core employability skills that are looked forward to in an actual workspace setting in the field.
Lohit Dodamani, senior centre associate handled the technical aspects related to the programme.
Tanuja N Suvarna, convener of the programme welcomed the members and Divyashree B, the assistant convener of the cell compered the programme.
