Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School hosts orientation programme for staff, students, parents

Mangaluru, Jul 17: The 153rd-anniversary celebration of the foundation of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation was held on July 16 at St Agnes Convent Bendur, here.

It was a day of celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel which is celebrated by the Carmelites all over the world.

St Agnes School (CBSE) celebrated this festive gathering by organising a virtual orientation programme for the parents, staff and students. A live session was presented by Fr Dr Archibald Gonsalves OCD, director of Ryshivana Institute of Indian Christian Spirituality Mangaluru, Karnataka, India on the topic 'Behind the Parents Stands the School, Behind the Teacher the Home. Let’s build a Positive Partnership'.

The importance of maintaining a good partnership between parents and teacher, teacher and student and parent and child, the basic principle of a pencil, along with importance of 3C’s communication, consistency and collaboration was highlighted in this talk.

Sr Maria Gracilda AC, the principal of St Agnes School extended a formal welcome to the session followed by the eucharistic celebration by Fr Dr Archibald Gonsalves OCD who was the main celebrant of the mass which was virtually telecast by Divine World Channel, YouTube and Facebook.

A melodious choir was conducted by the sisters and staff of St Agnes School. The vote of thanks was extended by teacher Nisha Rego thanking everyone for their enthusiastic support to make this festive celebration a grand success.
