This is unacceptable behaviour fronm both Indian Judiciary. This is one among of facts, the death of Fr. Stan Swamy. There is no humanity in Indian judiciary system. We missed a great Hero! Rev., Fr., Stan Swamy is murdered by the cow government's administration. Major involvement from H.M., Chaiwala, N.I.A., and from the involvement of the communal fundamentals. Rajeshwary Shetty, a killer of her husband of Udupi, received bail from the Supreme Court and Rev., Fr., Stan Swamy a peace maker of the tribals denied bail by falsifying cases against him. Rev., Fr., Stan Swamy fought a good fight of his life and kept the faith in Christ Jesus. He became a martyr of the tribals. May Rev., Fr., Stan Swamy Rest In Peace and may the good Lord God grant him eternal life in heaven. Amen.

A Black day in the history of India that a 84 year old Priest who has been fighting for the rights of Tribals and Adivasis is labelled a Terrorist by the BJP Govt and charged under the Draconian law of UAPA that is being indiscriminately used to deny bail and Justice to common citizens. On an innocent person who worked relentlessly for the upliftment of the poorest for 60 years, false charges were framed. We as a nation should bow our head in shame. The sick 84 year old person was chained in jail and even in the hospital. He was martyred by people for political gain. No Catholic will believe a Jesuit priest will ever do antinational act. Though we will ask forgiveness to the responsible persons, the all powerful and just God will see the truth. RIP dear Swamy.

If this is indeed true, then it is travesty of justice.

Rest in peace, Rev. Fr. Stan Swamy! Your heroic struggles for protecting the rights and liberty of the poor, oppressed, marginalised sections of the society - in particular the Adivasis & tribals against the machinations of the powerful/evil/manipulative sections of the society, even at the cost of your own life, causes us to bow down in respect, in awe, in shame. We, as a society, have collectively failed you & let you down, just as the selfish, arrogant people of Lord Jesus's times let him down and let him die an unjust death, at the hands of his oppressors. May your courageous example inspire us to stand by our values, stand for the truth.

The passing away of Rev Fr Stan Swamy after being denied bail is a blot on Indian politics, bureaucracy . We feel distraught that while the lower judiciary disregards clear guidlines laid down by the Apex court either because of ignorance or under pressure from the political establishmnet, to protect civil liberties, the higher judiciary could have taken suo motu cognizance of the large number and that too increasing number of civil liberty champions being incarcerated in overcroweded jails. The constitutional validity of several sections of the UAPA should have been suo motu taken up for examination by the higher judiciary when responsible sections of the madia was reporting the high handed methods used by Govt agencies to foist cases at the behest of corrupt politicians , and self serving bureaucrats. Of course God has ended Fr Stan's sufferings and taken him to Himself to be given the well deserved Crown of eternal Bilss. We can be certain Fr Stan has forgiven his tormentors. But then, the perpetrators ofthe crime and those who abetted in it by inaction have to note that Divine justice delivers retribution to Unrepentant guilty whether they are individuals or, political entities . History of our world even as late as the 20th and 21 st centuries holds evidence for this. It is a matter of time . Lets hope and pray Good sense will prevail in this land of sages and the country will revert to adhering to and honoring Constitutional proprieties

Nothing I can add, I just had commented on 66A by apex court about Bhima Koregaon cases by Fadnavis with Fake evidence as proven by UK lab report and no courts taking suo moto actions on priority like they did in Arnab's case as freedom is utmost until proven guilty. Alphonso, He was arrested during the time BJP Govt in Maharashtra. Later Central BJP Govt through NIA locked him under UAPA Act where Bail is almost impossible. Under UAPA a person is guilty till he/she proven Innocent. Once a person booked by NIA, then No state Govt can interfere. For NIA , it can over rule state DGP

Aparna, you are right. But the common sense is do we need such laws for 84 year old law abiding citizen fighting for the rights in the first place. ....let the common sense prevail in Ram Rajya.

A Priest who lived and died by his Principles ---Unfortunately the state could not take care- in his last days- His fight was for justice for the adivasis -down trodden - There are various vested interests - usurpers of land - mineral wealth - bank defaulters etc etc bigots ---who wanted him not released - No charges were proved - within a month it is possible to open and shut a case if authorities are serious - ALL ONE CAN SAY JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED - and now the sad fact is death - MAY HIS SOUL RIP --

Shameful what has happened to us as a society, and the leaders we choose?...how a man fighting for the rights of less fortunate perishes in this so-called land of Gandhi, of pogroms and lawlessness.
