Udupi, Jul 3: The Center for Postgraduate Studies of St Mary's College (MSW, MCom), NCC, NSS, Rovers-Rangers units in association with Reliance Foundation organised a mask distribution campaign on July 2 and distributed 10000 masks to Community Health Center, Post Office, Police Station, Jeevan Asha Old Age Home, Masjid, temple, church, Don Bosco and St Mary’s educational institutions of Shirva.
Gram panchayat president K R Patkar addressed the gathering and said, “The public should abide by the Covid rules and wear face mask; appropriate action will be taken against citizens who violate the rule."
Fr Rolvin Aranha, the assistant parish priest of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva said, “It is important not only to get the Covid-19 vaccine but also to save our lives by wearing masks in the right way and following social distancing.”
The campaign was graced by the principal, Dr Herald Ivan Monis, panchayat development officer Anantha Padmanabha Nayak, gram panchayat member Hasanbah Sheikh, director of Student Welfare Council director Yashoda, NCC officer lieutenant K Praveen Kumar, NSS officer Premanath, Raksha, Rangers leaders Prakash, Sangeetha Poojary, MSW coordinator Laxmi Acharya, MCom coordinator Jagdeesh Acharya, teaching and administrative staff, student leaders senior under-officer Bhat Ramdasa Sathish, junior under-officer Pravita Acharya, Rion Rishi Alphonso, company sergeant Major Pratima Acharya, company quartermaster Raina Andrade, Sera Mathe Mackwan, Akshay, Surekha, Vaishnavi, Apeksha, Deril D'Sa, Franklin Mathias and Prathiksha leaders of the various units helped in the distribution of masks to the public of the various units helped in the distribution of masks to the public.
