Bantwal, Jun 19: Covid tests were conducted as per decision of Vittal town panchayat on people who arrived at Vittal market. Eighty people among those who arrived on the first day were tested negative. Reports of 132 people who arrived on the second day are awaited.
The town panchayat had decided to subject to Covid tests all the people who arrive at the market in order to contain the increasing number of Covid cases and to enforce weekend curfew on Saturday and Sunday.
Community health centre and Alike staff conducted tests at Vittal KSRTC bus stand, village office and at Meginapete.
Eighty people who arrived at the market were tested at Vittal KSRTC bus stand on the first day, Thursday. All of them are tested negative.
Swab tests were conducted on 80 people on Thursday and 132 people on Friday. The report of 132 people is yet to be received. People are relieved that the report of the initial 80 people has come out negative.
