Karkala, Jun 4: A programme of distributing white Okra seeds was held at the auditorium of Nandalike Model Higher Primary School under the leadership of Rotary Club Belman with the joint participation of various associations of Belman and Nandalike areas.

The programme was inaugurated by MLA of the constituency and chief whip of the ruling BJP government of Karnataka V Sunil Kumar. Sunil said that all have to grow white Okra in the verandah of their house as it has very high nutritional value. He also said that the scheme is developed to market the white Okra in the name of Karkala Bilibende.

Reshma Udayakumar Shetty, who was the chief guest said that if all the associations of the taluk participate in the dream project of MLA Sunil Kumar, it is not at all difficult to turn Karkala into Golden Karkala constituency.

Founder president of Belman Rotary, Rtn Suryakantha Shetty and local committee president of Belman BJP and former president of Rotary Belman Rtn Devendra Shetty were present on the dais.

Presidents of Lions Club, JCI, Belman Sports Club, Gurudurga Mithra Mandali, Kavi Muddanna Mithra Mandali and various association of Belman and Nandalike were present on the occasion.

President of Rotary Club Belman, Rtn Subhash Kumar presided over the function and welcomed the gathering. Secretary Rtn Raviraj Shetty rendered the vote of thanks.
