Bengaluru, Mar 25: It is learnt that the people wanted in the Jarkiholi sleaze CD, who are changing their locations frequently, are trying to know the progress in the investigation by hacking the mobile phones of the investigating officers forming part of the special investigation team.
Journalist Naresh Gowda, who is said to be the kingpin of the CD, Shravan, the lady involved with the CD, entrepreneur, Shivakumar, and his car driver, have become untraceable. Shravan is a technical expert who reportedly has been hacking locations by creating different apps and software. He is said to be hiding in North India. The gang however is misleading the SIT, it is said.
In the recent past, some officials forming part of the SIT got whatsapp OTP messages on their phones. The officials who grew suspicious, got them checked by the cyber department. They came to know that they were hacking OTPs which were generated by a single individual. Further probe revealed that this was the handiwork of the CD accused, sources stated.
The SIT also got to know that Naresh Gowda, Shravan, the lady, entrepreneur, Shivakumar and his car driver were together from March 10 to 18. They have entered the name of one among them in hotel and lodges registration registers and suffixing the same with +4 or +5 sign. Later, they might have parted ways, the sources said. In some registers in north India, they have mentioned names and mobile numbers of strangers.
After the CD was released on March 2 in the city, they were in the city till March 7. After growing fearful of their arrest, they switched their respective mobile phones off and escaped. SIT is now planning to question their friends, relatives, and others who were in contact with them. The sources say that the fleeing persons have been mentioning names and mobile numbers of strangers in the registers maintained in hotels, lodges and resorts in north India. Just before the concerned foundout their locations and reached there, they kept escaping. The CCTV footages there have revealed about the movements of the accused.
