Mangaluru, Mar 17: Over 12 students of Expert PU College have qualified for the final round of ‘Kishore Vygnanic Protsahan Yojan’ fellowship examination 2021 with Rajaniketh Reddy VS from Bengaluru of the college securing 29th All India Rank.
In the KVPY examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Science, Reetham B from Kolar has secured 295th All India Rank, Ashwini K from Kundapur 924th rank, Thejas from Mangaluru 981st rank, Chiranth K V from Koppa 1060th rank, Thanush Gowda V from Bangalore 1202nd rank, VibhaParameshwarHegde from Sirsi 1266th Rank, Akhil S from Kokkarne 1340th rank, Chinmaye N from Mysore 1445th rank, Richa Sanjeev Deshpande from Dharwad 1644th rank, Sanjana Kamath Panchmal from Mangaluru and Isha Hanumaraddy Koti from Ranebennur 1692nd rank each.

Due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation KVPY-2020 was held in January 2021. The selected students will get a scholarship of Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,12,000 per year.
The science and technology department of the Government of India started Kishore Vygnanic Protsahan Yojan in 1999 with a view to promoting students’ interest in basic sciences. The programme involves identifying talented students and making them pursue higher studies and research in basic sciences by lending scholarship for five years. These students are eligible to study in prestigious Institutions such as the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, Indian Research Institute for Science Education and Research etc.
The chairman of the Expert Group of Institutions Prof Narendra L Nayak has congratulated all the KVPY achievers.
