Mangaluru, Mar 17: Criminal investigation department (CID) superintendents of police, Rohini Katoch and Ramesh, are in the city to undertake the second phase of investigation into the sale of a luxury car when in the possession of the police.
During the last two weeks, they have been issuing notices and questioning those involved with the case. The team was joined by CID deputy superintendent of police, Srinivasa Raju, from the last two days. The team led by Katoch looking into the sale of the car while Ramesh and his team are involved with financial irregularities of the company to which the car belonged. People having contact with the accused have also been questioned. The team led by Ramesh is also said to have questioned an officer from the narcotics department.
The teams want to complete their investigations and file reports with the department at the earliest. It is said that additional director general of police, Pratap Reddy, who has taken serious note of the allegation against the police, has decided to investigate all aspects threadbare and undertake in-depth investigation. Sources said that the officials want to make sure the case reaches its logical conclusion.
