JEDDAH, Jul 13 (Arab News): Police in Riyadh have arrested two young Saudis in connection with kidnapping and raping an Asian maid.
Security officers have handed over the men and woman to special agents for investigation before the case is referred to the Commission for Investigation and Public Prosecution.
Meanwhile, an expatriate worker was arrested for allegedly transporting two maids who had run away from their sponsors. The expatriate’s car had a stolen number plate.
In an unrelated development, Riyadh police recovered stolen copper cable worth SR2 million from two non-Saudis who were transporting the goods to a company in Riyadh.
The pair had purchased the cable at a cheap rate from two other men who had allegedly stolen them. Police are questioning all four men.
