Udupi: Organizations jointly hold Health Awareness Programme- Janaushadi Diwas 2021

Udupi, Mar 5: "Health is not just absence of disease or infirmity, it is a state of physical, mental and social wellbeing," said Dr Deepa Tantry, gynecologist, Community Health Centre, Shirva. She participated as a resource person in the Health Awareness Programme jointly organized by Women’s Forum, St Mary’s College Shirva, Rotary Club Shirva and Sadhguru Sauhard Sahakari Ltd, Udupi on the occasion of Janaushadi Week Celebration. She explained some women related diseases, their symptoms, treatment and the best practices to prevent them. She also answered various women related queries asked by students and staff.

Dr Herald Ivan Monis, principal of St Mary’s College Shirva, who presided over the programme said that in today’s mechanical world people are showing too much negligence towards health due to the work pressure. Regular exercise, meditation, yoga and disciplined life style is the need of the hour to ensure healthy life.



On behalf of Rotary Club Shirva, the Rotary president Vishnumurthy Saralaya handed over one thousand sanitary napkins to the college.
Prasanna Acharya, director of Sadhguru Sauharda Sahakari Ltd Udupi and Pundalika Marate, (News Reporter) were present in the programme.

The convener of Women’s Forum Anuja introduced the resource person and welcomed the gathering. Yashoda, asst convener of Women’s Forum proposed vote of thanks. Prathima and group rendered prayer service. Nuthan III B Com compered the programme.
