Mangaluru, Feb 27: 'Science of today, technology of tomorrow'. National Science Day was celebrated by the students of St Agnes School on February 27, to remember the great invention by the Indian Physicist, Chandrashekara Venkata Raman who discovered 'Ramans effect'. The students participated in the various competitions conducted on account of National Science Day.
The scientific method of solving problems was creatively and innovatively displayed on the school notice board. The teachers conducted various experiments like walking water, density of water and lemon, diffusion of water for the students who were later asked to do the same.
The students of grade VII participated enthusiastically in the debate on the topic 'Science is a Curse or a Boon'. The teachers conducted a seminar on Global Warming. Activities such as preparation of catapault and Newton's Disc were performed by the teachers and the students. A Power Point Presentation on the topic 'How Charles Darwin changed the world' was presented by Dhriti S Anchan of grade VI. Winners of the competition were awarded certificates.
It was indeed a very knowledgeable day in which the main motive was to spread a message about the importance of science used in the daily life of people.
