Bantwal: 25-year-old killed in collision between car, scooter

Bantwal, Feb 7: In a tragic incident, a collision between a car and scooter led to the death of two-wheeler rider. The accident took place on Sunday, February 7 in Kalladka near Kundrabettu, Bantwal.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Manjunath, resident of Baila near Kalladka. He was working at a Shamiyana shop in Melkar.

Manjunath was travelling back home on his scooter when a car coming from Puttur crashed into him. The accident left the scooter badly damaged and the rider severely injured.

Manjunath was immediately taken to a private hospital but he passed away without responding to treatment.

Traffic SI Rajesh KV visited the spot and conducted an investigation.

Earlier on Sunday morning, another two-wheeler rider died after his scooter collided with a tanker.

    Agreed, I always see danger at Padil junction, Alape, Bajal turns from main highway and many more where we need a speed breaker though its a national highway or so... but which officer/representatives cares...?

    There is no end in sight, to curtail the daily road causalities, in Dakshin Kannada district... The state must now come out with speed breakers, on every lane, by lane and on National highways, in the entire coastal belt of Karnataka... else they should ban all two wheelers in this region...
