Shobhraj Pavoor responded by saying that he had expressed the problems he has faced because of petroleum price hike and those who had responded have expressed their opinions. "I would have been happy if they had provided information to oppose my comment. But the mindset of passing comments in this fashion may even disturb Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Therefore, I have not been watching the comments. What we write reflects what we are. People will decide on them," he stated.
Muneer Katipalla, in his Facebook post, said that actor Shobhraj Pavoor has been supporting Modi. "Just because he resisted the petrol price hike and the problems face by the people, he has been branded a traitor. A few days ago, when actor Arvind Bolar, mocked at fake astrologers, the followers of Modi had attacked him. The intolerant comments reflect their culture. Superstitions, fraud, and the attitude of crushing the voices of dissent are excesses that are dangerous. Conscious citizens including theatre artistes, cinema, writers and artists should raise their voices against these things," he has said.
