Dubai, Jan 29: The Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management of Dubai on January 27 announced new rules for people arriving and departing from Dubai. One of the major announcement is the reduction of the validity of the PCR tests from 96 hours to 72 hours.
As per the committee, the rules will be in effect from Sunday, January 31. The new protocols are being put in place for the safety of travellers, said the committee.
Meanwhile, UAE citizens will be required to do a PCR test only on arrival in Dubai regardless of the country they are coming from. UAE residents, GCC citizens and visitors travelling to Dubai will need to do a pre-travel PCR test, irrespective of the country they are coming from. Meanwhile, additionals tests for passengers arriving from some countries (depending on the COVID-19 situation there) will be ordered upon landing in Dubai.
For the travellers who will be departing from Dubai, Rapid PCR or Rapid Antigen tests will be available at the airport to travellers departing from Dubai if their destination countries require it.
