Mangaluru, Jan 28: A shuttle badminton tournament was organized on January 26 in connection with the Republic Day celebrations for the local residents of St Antony Colony, Ashoknagar, here, by TEAM SAC, Ashoknagar.

The tournament was inaugurated by lighting a lamp by one of the senior residents along with the office bearers of TEAM SAC. The match was then held in various categories junior and senior for children, men and women.

Later, prizes were distributed to the winners of each category by Saroja, a senior member of St Antony Colony. Rajesh, the president of TEAM SAC and other office bearers were present. The results are as follows:

Children's category:
Winners: Kishan and Anjanraj
Runners up: Krishna and Kushal

Women’s category:
Winners: Vinaya Sudhakar and Pratheeksha
Runners Up: Treasa Nunes and Kavitha

Men’s Category:
Winners: Ashish and Preethesh
Runners up: Welvin Castelino and Sharan

Special Prize:
Emerging Badminton player: Dhanush
