Brahmavar, Jan 27: Three young men who arrived in a motorbike reportedly tried to steal items from a few houses located at Guddattu, near Shiriyara in the taluk on Tuesday January 26. It is said that the three men were lurking to steal things from the house of a live-alone lady. When the locals tried to catch hold of them, they had flashed a knife and escaped. Later, with the support of locals, the two were taken into custody from near Japthi village by the police who doggedly chased them. They were handed over to the police. The other member of the gang escaped. The police are now hunting for Nandish.
There were rumours that the gang was involved with the abduction of children but the police have denied the rumours. At this, they left the boy behind and escaped, it was said. The people chased them in an auto and informed the police who chased them.
