Mangaluru, Jan 1: Freshers' day of 2020-21 batch, for the first year BE and B Arch students was held on January 1 2021 at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. The function was presided over CA, A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University and president of A Shama Rao Foundation. Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor of Srinivas University and vice president of A Shama Rao Foundation, Vijayalakshmi R Rao, director Srinivas Group of Colleges, Mangaluru and Mitra S Rao, secretary of A Shama Rao Foundation were the guests of honour.
CA A Raghvendra Rao, in his presidential address advised the newly inducted engineering students to think positively and constructively to achieve the goal. Students should use the opportunities and parents are required to monitor their wards. Institute focuses on skill development and result oriented programs. He advised the students should work hard to become like Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and CV Raman.
Dr A Srinivas Rao, in his address to the newly inducted engineering students and their parents, informed that the institute teaches value added programs apart from the academic curriculum. This will help the students to grab the opportunities existing in the digital world. Country will become super power by the contribution of the engineers and you are all required to be a part of it.
Dr Shrinivas Mayya D, principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology, welcomed and introduced the guests. He presented the bird’s eye view about the growth of the institute since 2006. He informed the facilities available in the institute to the students along with the rules and regulations of Visvesvaraya Technological University.
The program was started with an invocation by Niveditha and Sonali of third year BE students Sohan and Milan Thomas from the final year shared their views about the college. Newly joined students and their parents shared their views and asirations from the institute. Professor Anant Kumar Kulkarni, convenor of the program proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Ambika Malyya, Spandana and Asifa anchored the program.
