Mangaluru, Dec 28: Christmas is a time for joy and a time for giving. With that spirit, a month-long celebration for Christmas and New Year was planned at Manipal School.
The following events were conducted as part of the celebration:
Send your love: Students and their parents were invited to send in their handmade greeting cards and Christmas tree ornaments. The craftworks received were used to decorate the school lobby and the Christmas tree.
Joy of giving: The school staff were encouraged to donate clothes, bedsheets, blankets and toiletries in good condition. This was a great success as it saw lots of donations. All women and children’s clothes, bedsheets and blankets were donated to Prajna Swadhara Graha. Men’s clothes were donated to street dwellers at KSRTC bus stand and St Antony Poor Home.
Staff party: A staff party was conducted on December 19. This included an outing to Tannirbhavi beach where a carol singing video was shot that was shared with the students on Christmas eve. Later, all the staff gathered at the school cafeteria for a fun-filled morning of refreshments, music, dance, games and lots of gifts through secret Santa gifts exchange.
Live festive tutorials: Parents and students conducted live tutorials for the students of the school. It was a well-received event. Every grade conducted multiple tutorials on craft, baking and cooking. Students enjoyed it as they learnt something new and different from their regular classes.
Virtual Christmas party: Students enjoyed a fun-filled party with their friends virtually. There was food, drinks, games, movies, music and dance. Students had a chance to enjoy themselves with their teachers and friends.
Season’s greetings! With many good wishes for the coming year - Team Manipal School
