Mangaluru: Srinivas University dept of Hotel Management & Tourism holds national level conference

Mangaluru, Dec 24: Department of Hotel Management & Tourism, Srinivas University had organized a national level virtual conference on the theme 'Rural & Urban Tourism in India: Current Trends and Issues' on December 23 at its city campus, Pandeshwar.

Suraj Kana - manager, planning & services, reservations field support, Marriott Singapore, was the inaugurator of the programme. In his address to the delegates, he had highlighted the major changes in the sectors of tourism and hospitality with facts and figures in view of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and illustrated the major steps taken by both sectors to cope up with the uncertainty.



Dr B George, principal I/C, Madurai Kamaraj University College, Tamil Nadu and Dr Senthil Kumaran P, professor, Hospitality & Tourism, Manipal Academy of Higher Education-WGSHA, Manipal were the key note speakers of the conference.

CA A Raghavendra Rao - chancellor, Srinivas University and Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro chancellor, Srinivas University had released the abstract books containing 15 abstracts received from various researchers and intellectuals across India. Dr  P S Aithal vice chancellor, Srinivas University released the conference proceedings books (ISBN Number 978-81-941751-7-9). Many professors and research scholars from various colleges and universities of Mangaluru, Kerala, New Delhi and West Bengal presented their paper on the theme.

Prof S Swaminathan, Dean, welcomed the dignitaries and delegates to the virtual programme. Subrat Saraf, convener of the conference addressed the delegates on the theme of the conference. Arjun K, organising secretary delivered the vote of thanks.
