Mangaluru: Vigilance Awareness Week observed at Manipal School

Media Release

Mangaluru, Dec 17: Vigilance Awareness Week is observed every year across India to promote transparency, accountability and integrity in public life.

The endeavour is to fight against the corruption that is seeping into our lives. Its observance in schools encourages young minds to think of ways to fight the systemic rot and to create a ‘Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat’.

The students of Manipal School, Mangaluru observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 27 to November 6. The teachers, parents and senior students led the way by taking the ‘e-Integrity Pledge’ on the official portal of the Central Vigilance Commission website. The e-Integrity Pledge ensures that ethical values are permanently rooted in the young minds of the next generation.

Various activities like slogan writing, digital poster making, essay writing, elocution and collage making were conducted across grades VI to X to create awareness on vigilance.

Students came up with creative slogans like ‘Pollution by corruption leads to our destruction'; 'Now or never, it is time to open our eyes and say no to corruption'.

A slide show was presented by Mohammed Abdul Fasal, a student of grade VIII, which expressed his views on ending corruption in India.

The week-long campaign of vigilance awareness concluded in a virtual special assembly conducted by grade IX students.

Aashna Saldanha, a student of grade IX in her talk on ‘Vigilant India – Prosperous India’ said, "Bribing is a major concern in our country and corruption is the main obstacle in the country’s progress. We, as citizens of this country, must make a conscious effort to overcome this corruption and put an end to it. Every Indian has the power to make this difference. Let us break the chain of corruption and bring together our nation. Let us make our country a vigilant India and work towards making it a prosperous India."
