Mangaluru, Dec 16: St Agnes College (Autonomous), National Cadet Corps (NCC) celebrated Swachhta Pakhwada with various activities. Cadets of the army and air wing actively participated in eco-friendly programmes, social awareness activities, cleanliness drive and other competitions.

On December 1, a pledge taking on Swachhta Abhiyan was held and other activities were initiated. On December 2 and 3 cadets were involved in a slogan writing competition on the 'Significance of Cleanliness'. On December 4, Vanamahotsava was celebrated. The cadets planted saplings of different varieties. From December 5 to 7, cadets took part in the model presentations and presented many eco-friendly models. From December 8 to 10, there was a digital poster making competition on the topics, Energy Conservation and Water Conservation. From December 11 to 13, cadets rendered their services in the cleanliness drive and they cleaned their respective areas. On December 14 and 15, cadets created awareness on cleanliness its importance and benefits through social media applications by spreading messages, posting slogans, paintings and posters.

Swachhta Pakhwada indeed enlightened the cadets and the society in general. The programmes were held under the guidance of Lt Gayathri B K (ANO) army wing and Dr Hithakshi (ANO) airwing.
