Moodbidri, May 28: Ratnavati K Achar, a teacher in a local school, who bagged the first place in the state-level teaching aids-making competition, has been selected for the state level ‘Karnataka Vikas Ratna’ by Bharat Ratna Sir M Vishveshwarayya Engineering Pratistan Trust ®.
The award will be conferred on Ratnavati at Bangalore on Sunday May 30, informed Ramesh Surve, chairman of the Trust.
Ratnavati is serving as an arts teacher at Venoor High School, near here, and has also served as an animator at Kallamundkoor group resources center.
She was promoted as high school teacher after working in a primary school for 19 years. She has thrice bagged first place in the district-level low cost teaching aids-making competitions.
She bagged first place in state-level competitions during 2005–06. The city-based organization ‘Sangatya’ awarded her the title of ‘Shaikshanika Sadaki,’ besides bagging many other prizes in the competitions held for high school teachers in the taluk.
