Mangaluru: People take photos instead of helping accident victim at Kulur

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Dec 5: In another instance of public insensitivity, a youth, who met an accident, was lying on the road for several minutes while the public was taking his photos. Later, Jayaprakash Alva arrived at the spot and arranged an auto rickshaw to shift him to the hospital. The incident took place near Kulur bridge on Friday December 4.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Jayaprakash Alva said, "Though the youth was lying on the road after he was severely injured in the accident, people were clicking photographs but no one was ready to take him to the hospital. Finally, I stopped an auto rickshaw driver who helped me to shift the youth to the hospital."

He also said traffic police who was on duty on the spot also failed to make arrangements to shift the victim. Instead, he stated that his duty hours were over.

"A painful thing is that though he was rushed to the hospital, he could not be saved. If people would rush him immediately to the hospital, his life could be saved," Jayaprakash Alva said.

"Over speeding of a private bus led to the accident," he said.

It is said that the youth was injured after he was hit by a private bus. Immediately after the accident, both driver and conductor of the bus fled from the spot.

It is said that though there were many police vehicles in the vicinity, they failed to shift the accident victim.

What a shame and same time embarassing .Mobiles are one side a blessing other side simply a curse.Ring ing at wrong time is acceptable, but taking fotos from accident persons instead of helping them in their struggle of life and death,is not acceptable. Here in Germany such actions are punishable, heavy fine is put.Not helping a accident victim is punishable.Everyone should think it is same with their own relations,or self in situation wanting help.Yes humanity is gone to dogs.I found still worse of a police man saying that his duty hours are over ,so he didnt help. Are we human or from forest monkeys?Even Gorillas come and look into a injured bird and warm it,I had seen in a video lately.such police should be dismissed immediately.Previously people had no money like today, but had human feelings .Today no humanity but money and gold ,heart is cold.RIP.to the soul deceased.

My repeated pleas to the Police/Rta's not to allow Public Bus transport to wait a Second more after dropping n picking up Passengers from the Designated busstops has been of no use.
The time this is enforced, the Buses need not drive like maniacs as Time is easily maintained....
It is by waiting at Busstops for a longer time that these Drivers drive rashly in order to reach the next bustop for their slotted time...
This will even get the noise level down...
How many more lives should be lost??

Recently a bus had hit a cow near my place. Arrangements were made to take the cow to the veterinarian. However there was another cow on asking traffic police to do something about the other cow which was now running on the divider on NH 66 police said "what are we supposed to do about the other cow". Traffic police at times seem useless.

    Killer Buses,
Too much rash driving in most of the routes is one more thing that needs to be looked into on priority... Driver licences need to be suspended.

Half of the accidents in and around mangalore are because of private buses. They think it's a formula one race and also they treat passengers like animals. These people who click pictures and upload on social media put captions saying pray for them, life is important. Such narcissists! They have zero concern for the victim.

Most of the private bus owners are politicians ,so in DK,UDUPI area don't dream also that government buses will come. Mangalore smart city also going to fail because of this private buses. From Hampankatta upto state bank it is totally smart city bus stop. This much lengthy bus stop no where in India.
