Kasargod: Two policemen injured in tear gas shell explosion during training

Kasargod, Dec 4: In an incident that occurred at the Kasargod Reserve Police Force grounds in the city on the morning of Friday December 4, two policemen were injured due to the sudden explosion of tear gas shell.

The injured policemen, Sudhakaran (45) and Pavithran (45), are admitted to the hospital. The policemen were on training in the wake of the local body elections that is slated to take place soon.

Sudhakaran has received serious injuries to his head. He is admitted to Kozhikode medical college hospital while Pavithran is being treated at Kasargod general hospital. It is said that this incident took place when the ground was being cleaned after the training exercise was over. The shell that did not explode during training exploded and caused injury.

Both the policemen were given first aid at Kasargod general hospital and later Sudhakaran was shifted to Kozhikode hospital.

Police are investigating whether there was dereliction of duty in this incident.
