Mangaluru, Nov 29: In yet another incident of its kind, miscreants again defaced a wall in the city with provocative graffiti, this time at the court premises.
On the morning of Sunday November 29, graffiti was found scribbled on the wall of an old police outpost on the court premises. It is learnt that the graffiti was written earlier, but came to light on Sunday morning.
The graffiti read 'Gustak e Rasool ki ek hi saza, sar tan say juda' (only one punishment for offending Prophet - severing head from body) in Urdu language and English script.
On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and wiped off the graffiti.
According to police commissioner Vikash Kumar, the graffiti may have been written around the same time the first one appeared, but came to notice later.
A case has been registered a case against unknown persons under the Public Disfigurement Act for creating enmity between communities and defacing public property.
It may be recalled that on Friday November 27, graffiti in support of terrorist organisations was found on the wall of an apartment in Bejai. The police had taken prompt action in wiping it away. The incident sparked much furore, with local political leaders across party lines demanding strong action against the culprits.
