Mangalore, May 17: The ice cream eating competition held at Kadri Park attracted many children on Sunday May 16.
The contest organized by JCI and Dinky Dine challenged the children’s talent in eating what they love. The light ice-cream provided to the children attracted them with its taste, but only a few were selected for the prize.
There were 150 participants in the competition.
Children in the age group 5-9 participated in the junior category and those aged 9-12 participated in senior category.
The first place winner in the junior category, Dhruva, ate the ice cream in 1.53 minutes.
Preethi, second place winner, ate in 1.54 minutes and third place winner Mayoor in 1.58 minutes.
Abhijay, a 11-year-old boy won the fist place in senior category by eating one ice cream in 38 seconds. Sherya won the second place by eating it in 1.10 minutes and the third place went to Bilal who ate in 1.15 minutes.
It is the 17th year that JCI and Dinky Dine have jointly organized this programme.
Swarna Sunder, owner of Dinky Dine Ice Creams, inaugurated the competition.
Jagadeesh Bangera, president of JCI, welcomed all. JCI Vishnu Mayya compered the programme.
