Udupi, Nov 19: Manipal station police conducted an operation and seized 462 MDMA tablets weighing 244 grams and 14 gram of imported ganja. The total value of the seized contraband is worth nearly Rs 14,70,000. A case has been registered at Manipal police station and the investigation is being carried out.
The Udupi police have confiscated such expensive banned drugs for the fifth time in the last two months. They have intensified operations against banned substances and formed teams to nab the suspects.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of DySP Karkala, Bharath S Reddy and Manipal police inspector Manjunath M Gowda by Udupi assistant drug controller Nagaraj, education department officials Shanker and Pradeep Kumar, Manipal police station staff Adarsh, Dayaker Prasad, Shubha, Anandayya, Sudeep, Karkala DySP office’s Jagadeesh under guidance from Udupi SP Vishnuvardhan and additional SP Kumar Chandra.
"The operation against drugs will continue," said Udupi SP Vishnuvardhan.
