Udupi: Manipal police seize MDMA tablets, imported ganja worth Rs 14.70 lac

Udupi, Nov 19: Manipal station police conducted an operation and seized 462 MDMA tablets weighing 244 grams and 14 gram of imported ganja. The total value of the seized contraband is worth nearly Rs 14,70,000. A case has been registered at Manipal police station and the investigation is being carried out.

The Udupi police have confiscated such expensive banned drugs for the fifth time in the last two months. They have intensified operations against banned substances and formed teams to nab the suspects.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of DySP Karkala, Bharath S Reddy and Manipal police inspector Manjunath M Gowda by Udupi assistant drug controller Nagaraj, education department officials Shanker and Pradeep Kumar, Manipal police station staff Adarsh, Dayaker Prasad, Shubha, Anandayya, Sudeep, Karkala DySP office’s Jagadeesh under guidance from Udupi SP Vishnuvardhan and additional SP Kumar Chandra.

"The operation against drugs will continue," said Udupi SP Vishnuvardhan.

    whose is involved in drug peddling, mostly locals. Don't blame the outsider. Even though Manipal police is chasing/catching the paddlers for past few months, peddlers are still active. it is nothing but easy money making them to run this racket.

    Rich, North Indian students in Manipal are into MDMA and expensive drugs...Only they can afford it's high price...I won't be surprised even if there are cocaine suppliers in Manipal
    South Indians are not into all of this, or if they do, they would have only learnt it from the arrogant and brash northies

    There is the fourth case I am reading on seizures. Is these colorful tablets this expensive in India? Are pharmacy students not smart enough to make these rather than Import and get caught . Jokes apart.. MDMA is widely used in secrecy by psychiatrist in the US for PTSD treatment. Whatever the US does India simply follows that. Look at medical ganja it is going to be legal in all states. It will never be legal in India as it is portrayed as evil drug.
