Panaji, Aug 31 (IANS): Bars will be allowed to open in Goa from September 1, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Monday, adding that the Union Ministry of Home Affairs Unlock 4.0 guidelines would be implemented in the state.

"Bars will be opened from tomorrow. Social distancing will be compulsory," Sawant said.

There are over 10,000 licensed bars in the state and bar owners in Goa had been repeatedly urging Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to reopen the bars, which had been closed in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
