Mangaluru: Pachanady garbage pile - High court serves notices

Mangaluru, Aug 27: The state high court (HC), which has taken up a petition filed against the landslide suffered at the Pachanady garbage pile having buried several parts of Kudupu, Pachanady and Mandara areas, ordered issuance of notices to the state government and others.

Karnataka State Legal Services Authority had filed this petition. It came up for consideration before a division bench headed by Chief Justice A S Oka on Wednesday, August 26. The bench listened to the arguments for sometime before adjourning the hearing to September 16.

In the meanwhile, it has ordered issuance of notices to the state government, union ministry for environment, union housing and urban development ministry, environment pollution control board, Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner and Mangaluru City Corporation, asking them to file objections if any.
