Udupi: Shirva church assistant priest's demise - Investigation handed over to CID

Udupi, Aug 21: The case pertaining to the demise of the assistant priest of Shirva our Lady of Health Church at Shirva, who also was the principal of Don Bosco English Medium School, was handed over to the Corps of Detectives (COD) investigation as per the demand of the residents of Shirva village in tune with the instruction of the state minister for home and cooperation dated January 10, 2020.

A case has been registered in Shirva police station in this connection under sections 306, 204, 506 and 201 of Indian Penal Code in which David D'Souza has been named as accused. D'Souza has been arrested and the case is under investigation.

The deputy secretary for crimes, prisons and cinema, internal administration department, has now issued an order transferring the case to the criminal investigation department (CID) for further investigation. The CID team has been asked to complete the investigation soon and to file a report in the court besides submitting a report to the government on the steps taken.

    No matter the Police Investigation ended as suicide, there is certainly something suspicious that is overlooked. A priest will never go to buy a rope to do suicide, nor going to do it, he always got unfinished job at hand. One may be fishy and hiding something but priests do not go for suicide.
    Let us wait and see until CID Investigation completes.

    God the creator will not let down anyone, justice may be delayed but God will help in each & every aspect. Everybody thought the case is closed when media reported it's over but the pressure from people & help from God kept the case alive thereby transferring the case to CID, justice will be delivered.

    This was need of the hour. Like Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide case, Fr. Mahesh's case also shrouded in deep mystery. Truth must come out to restore the confidence of general public.
