AYUSH Minister given plasma therapy for corona treatment


Panaji, Aug 17 (IANS): Union Minister of State for Defence and AYUSH Shripad Naik has been administered plasma therapy and put on high-flow nasal oxygen as part of the treatment for coronavirus, an official statement said on Monday.

Naik had tested corona positive on August 12. He is admitted in a private hospital near the state capital and is responding well to the treatment.

"He is being treated by doctors from the Goa Medical College and Manipal Hospital. His treatment is being monitored in close coordination with AIIMS, Delhi," the statement said.

A team of specialists from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences' Anaesthesiology and Pulmonary Medicine Departments will examine Naik on Tuesday.

"The Minister is on high-fow nasal oxygen for maintaining his oxygen saturation level. The first dose of convalescent plasma was administered to him today under the supervision of a Transfusion Medicine specialist earlier with AIIMS," the statement added.

    Surprisingly that he did not take the Indian medicine given to Prince Charles which he had said has cured him. These politicians made a tall claims and when they get the same disease practice western medicine.
